Our Wedding

Since this was truly the greatest day of my life, I feel like I should share it with everyone! It was March 12, 2011 at 6pm. We had the ceremony and reception at the Brookwood Community. Here are just a few pictures so you can get the jist of it.

And because I know brides need all the help they can get and save as much as they can; here some services/resources we used. Want to know who else we hired or what we bought for the big day? Ask and I will tell... unless I already have it on here. Than you just need to read it again until you find it. :)

Venue: The Brookwood Community! This meant the most to me in the end. It's actually a non-profit. They have a lot of land and buildings, houseing, a church, etc. to house and help adults with special needs. It's amazing to see these people helping a special population most tend to forget about. Part of the cost for the wedding actually goes toward their community as a donation! They have a gorgeous church and a newly renovated restaurant that sports a 4 star chef from NY. It's a wonderful feeling to look back at your wedding and see that you made a difference in this world.

Photographer: Angula Malone. Her name is pronounced Angela by the way. Everyone seems to think it's said like Angoola. Whatever. She is a fantastic photographer. Everybody has their own sense of how a photographer should be. She was perfect for me. Once I get these pictures posted you can decide for yourself!

Decor (flowers, linens, candles, etc.): Wedding Flowers by Lisa, otherwise known as the Blooming Gallery. If you think that sounds familiar, it should. She has been in many wedding magazines in Houston and is well known for putting together such beautiful scenes for events. She worked with Brookwood on the renovations, so she knew what it was going to look like before I did. I trusted her to know what kind of style I was looking for and she gave me my dream wedding. She is AMAZING!

Cake: Three Brothers Bakery. Again, if you have done your research for your wedding this should sound familiar! They have been one of the premier bakery's in Houston AND have been featured on Food Network twice! I actually had a different baker up until about 2 weeks before the wedding when I found out that she couldn't do it. Needless to say I wanted to run someone over then stuff cake in their face. Three Brothers said that they could squezze in a cake for me and even gave me a discount since this was an unexpected wedding emergency! Oh and it was probably the best cake ever. If heaven dropped a cake onto your plate one day, it would taste like Three Brothers made it.

DJ: Daulongs Mobile Music. They were "okay." Their price was the best I have seen but I am pretty sure they were training someone at my wedding so the guy seemed stressed and skipped a couple songs which annoyed me a bit. But from what I hear, thats not normal for them, they are usually spotless!

Invitations: Michaels. Thats right, I made mine. That have the best DIY invitations from BRIDES magazine. I really suggest doing this if you have the time and like getting crafty. It turned out to be pretty fun! They have great Thank You cards too.
  • Go Google a location, Lazy. :)

Wedding Night Hotel: Hilton. There is a really nice one by the airport that treated us like royalty! They gave us a free breakfast buffet cards (apparently its not complimentary there) and upgraded our room to a suite when they heard it was our wedding night.

Honeymoon: Cancun baby! Cheap airfare, semi cheap condos, and lots of fun things to do! I thought it would jus tbe a party town but I was way off. We had the most amazing time together! We stayed at the Westin Lagunamar. We can't wait to go back! Maybe a one year anniversary trip... COUGH- phil -COUGH!
